Acceptance
By creating an account or using Detent, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What Detent Does
Detent is a personal brewing assistant. It uses your device camera to read coffee bag labels, generates grind and brew recommendations calibrated to your grinder, and syncs brew profiles to your Fellow Aiden machine via the Fellow cloud API. Detent is designed for personal, non-commercial use.
Your Account
You must sign in using Apple ID or Google. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We do not create or store passwords for Detent itself.
Your Data
Your coffee cabinet, scan history, grinder preferences, and brew profiles are stored in your private account and are not visible to or shared with other users. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@illogicalproject.com.
Fellow Integration
Detent communicates with Fellow cloud services on your behalf using the credentials you provide in Settings. IllogicalProject Production is not affiliated with Fellow Products Inc. Fellow is a registered trademark of Fellow Products Inc. Detent is an independent third-party app and is not endorsed by or associated with Fellow.
Camera and Image Use
The app requests access to your device camera solely to capture coffee bag labels. Captured images are transmitted to a secure server for AI-powered label analysis. Images are not stored after analysis is complete and are not used for any other purpose.
AI-Generated Recommendations
Brew and grind recommendations are generated by AI and are provided for guidance only. Results may vary based on your specific equipment, water, and technique. IllogicalProject Production makes no warranty that recommendations are accurate, complete, or suitable for your situation.
Prohibited Use
You may not use Detent for any commercial purpose, reverse engineer the app, attempt to circumvent security measures, or use the app in any way that violates applicable law.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Detent is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, IllogicalProject Production and Brian Fenn shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use Detent, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Detent after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
